junho 28, 2018 Press Release 2018

The 21st edition of the largest security fair in Latin America received 45 thousand visitors looking for new solutions in products and services in the segments of Electronic, Private, Personal, Public, Property and Business Security.

São Paulo, May 25, 2018 – Participation in the 21st Exposec – International Security Fair, the largest event in the sector in Latin America, and the volume of closed business or forwarded exceeded the expectations of the participants of the event. According to Rimantas Sipas, director of Cipa Fiera Milano, organizer and promoter of the fair, the results prove the good moment in which passes the security sector in the country. “It is a segment that is against the national economy, presenting robust growth and with several investments in new technologies, as we saw in Exposec 2018.”

This year, the fair joined around 800 exhibitor brands and 45 thousand visitors between companies and security professionals. Next year, the 22nd Exposec will be held between May 21 and 23, at the São Paulo Expo.

Already, the president of ABESE (Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies), Selma Migliori, understands that Exposec represents a landmark in the history of the event. “Our visitors have been able to follow closely how much the sector has evolved: Startups Island ABESE, the City Camera project and the launch of the IoT Committee linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC) are some examples of how we are prepared to meet the demands of the market for disruptive solutions,” affirms.

With revenues of more than R$ 6 billion in 2017, the electronic security sector is expected to grow more 8% this year, due to a marketing heating, with emphasis on the video monitoring segments and remote gatehouses. The data are from ABESE. Currently, the country has more than 26 thousand electronic security companies.  And Exposec is the showcase for leverage this growth.

Positive balance of companies

With over 85% of renewal for Exposec 2019 exhibitors reinforce this balance of Exposec’s success. Rogério Rodrigues, Commercial Director of Channels of the Hikvision, remembers that, in addition to the volume of people, the stand received many visitors from the security branch, “giving to the fair great commercial quality. We are pleased with what we have accomplished so far. Some negotiations were only started or were pending and were realized because of the fair”. The executive anticipated that by the end of this year, the company will launch 60 new products in the domestic market.

According to Henrique Fernandez, director of the electronic security unit of the Intelbras,Exposec reinforced the fact that it is “the main fair of our calendar, we have already confirmed its presence next year. “Overall, the fair was very good, with well-selected public and exhibitors working in a professional way, in addition to a significant increase in domestic companiesreflecting the economic growth, even shy, of the country”.

This is also an assessment of other companies participating in Exposec. According to Marco Barbosa, director of Came do Brasil, the balance was positive, despite the unstable scenario in the economy. “We receive customers from all over Brazil and from Mercosur and, therefore, the fair is an important relationship channel for current and potential customers to know the new products and trends in access control. We started some contacts that should represent 25% of generation of new projects during this year. We have many high-tech equipment that we intend to bring from the Italian headquarters in the second semester.”

“The public, from last year to this year, has grown not only in quantity, but also in quality. Our challenge for this year was to generate business in these three days for 60 days in the factory. We hit the target by 15% compared to last edition. JFL is already working products for launches here in 2019 and planning new business. We have also expanded our network of distributors: there are more than 200 throughout Brazil “celebrates Fernando Barbosa Mota, commercial director of JFL Alarmes.

“We have exceeded all expectations of closing sales, “affirms Ana Laura Imaizumi, commercial manager of Fulltime. “The face-to-face meeting with the client at the fair is very important to facilitate the closing of negotiations that were being built. Participation is essential and gives a lot of feedback. From here we have been able to work with clients for a whole year.”

David Girelli, marketing manager of Nice no Brasil, ensures that “we continue to be surprised by the volume of people visiting our stand. The event was a success”. “Many customers present and many new ones looking for us interested in working with Nice solutions, attracted mainly by the wide range and technology of the brand’s products”, he affirms. Girelli remembers that many closed businesses and clients interested in making acquisitions in the next few days.”

Cobrase

The importance of private security as an interaction with public security to reduce crime, both inside and outside companies, was highlighted in Cobrase – Brazilian Congress of Security. One of the examples presented was the case of HC FMUSP (Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de São Paulo) who developed a master plan for security with the installation of smart cameras and programmable ratchets. The heavy investment in new security technologies has ended the occurrences of steal and property theft within the unit and even contributed to the reduction of crime around it.

On the other hand, participants were warned that criminals were appropriating technologies, such as drones, for their acts. To avoid this, the government of Rio de Janeiro is testing intelligent luminaires in public areas, with hidden cameras to monitor the areas.

ESS Safety and Hospitality Congress

The ESS Safety and Hospitality Congress led to visitors of Exposec information on the importance of developing an integrated security policy with all segments in hospitals, shopping malls and hotels. These projects must follow the objectives and needs of the institutions, which, according to the specialists present in the Congress, guarantees greater efficiency of the investments and smaller expenses. Access control in hospitals, with facilitators such as totems, were pointed out as fundamental.

Arena Drone

Among the attractions of Exposec, Arena Drone presented the evolution in equipment that end up absorbing the technological advances. One of them is the thermal vision, which has been highlighted so that the appliances gain more and more space in property security. According to Bruno Jouan, commercial director of SegurPro, the drone mapping/surveillance sector does not stop growing. “It is not only about cost reduction, but also the security extension. It is the best of both worlds, “affirms Jouan, by citing that the air mapping by drones is much faster, wider and more effective than by land (made by vigilantes in a car, for example).

Startups Island ABESE

For the first time, Exposec had an exclusive area for startups, start-ups that develop innovative products or services with a potential for fast growth. These business models that have emerged in real market safety have presented several innovations in product and services, with low costs and unprecedented solutions. Among them, the system that identifies sounds and, integrated to the traffic cameras, can capture images of accidents or crimes due to the mobility offered by the system, which directs the cameras to the occurrence. Currently, according to Ivo Frazão, of the Áudio Alerta, developer of the system, the cameras are fixed, which limits their performance.

A system, developed by Retina Vision, created by students of the Polytechnic of USP, emerges as a solution to the difficulty of recovering stolen cars. Using simple cameras, they have developed software that is able to identify a vehicle and generate an alert for the insurer.
