São Paulo, May 2018 – Exposec, the first security industry trade show in Brazil according to international research by Globex, brings in its 21st edition updates on products and services in the segments of Electronic, Private, Personal, Public, Property and Corporate Security. The event brings together around 800 exhibiting brands, with an expected attendance of 43,000 visitors.
The event occurs at an important time when the issue of security has monopolized media attention and generated concern among the population. According to Abese (Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies), the segment grossed over R$6 billion in 2017 and presents positive expectations for the Brazilian market this year. According to the Association's president, Selma Migliori, the sector should "grow 21% more than last year due to a slight market upturn, with emphasis on the video surveillance and remote access control segments," she analyzes.
Even with increasing private investment in security, the Brazil holds the title of the 11th most unsafe country in the world, according to the NGO Social Progress Imperative. Currently, there are more than 26,000 registered electronic security companies in the country, according to Abese.
Safety in focus
Organized by Cipa Fiera Milano, in partnership with Abese, Exposec is held annually in May in the city of São Paulo and is now among the most important trade fairs in the sector worldwide. The fair takes place from May 22nd to 24th at São Paulo Expo.

DRONE ARENA
The arena will be the stage for showcasing the technological advancements in this market segment. Applications for security, drones for aerial filming, and anti-drone systems will be presented to the public by participating companies. At the end of the day, drone races will be held, giving participants the experience of piloting a drone on an obstacle course. Furthermore, all the knowledge about these devices will be made available to participating companies to help them choose the product best suited to their needs. Real Games, an entertainment company focused on innovation and technology, will be responsible for the arena's activities.

All this technological innovation is hampered, in Brazil, by the quality of the internet signal. Therefore, new solutions will be presented, such as a device that captures and enhances 4G, 3G, and 2G network signals even in regions where the signal is weak or unstable.

IoT
The IoT (Internet of Things) It is a network of physical objects, vehicles, buildings, and others that have embedded technology, sensors, and network connectivity capable of collecting and transmitting data. The following will be demonstrated at Exposec:
A fog generator that releases 4,000 m³ of substance into the air in just two minutes, enough to thwart robberies of banks, stores, and warehouses within the first few seconds by blocking visibility.
Also featured is the retractable pillar capable of stopping a 2.5-ton vehicle at 50 km/h, a common tactic used in break-in attempts. Additionally, automatic gates and doors, recently unveiled in Milan, will be on display, capable of stopping a 7.5-ton truck at 80 km/h.

Facial Recognition
A system that allows for the recognition of people through their faces as a unique identification method or to work in conjunction with various other biometric identification methods, cards, and others. The management software enables the identified individuals to be treated according to lists such as wanted individuals, VIPs, and to allow or deny access, among others.;
Cameras that have the ability to perform facial recognition (even after a long period of time), based on information such as the distance between a person's facial bones;
Vehicle access control equipment designed to be mounted on car and motorcycle headlights, enabling the identification of virtually 100% vehicles, as well as offering greater ease and speed of installation.

SMART CITIES
Video surveillance equipment that analyzes individuals after the camera itself performs facial recognition, in addition to other functions that utilize the equipment's intelligence. The system will offer the end user a simulation of what they can do, such as opening/closing gates and activating locks, lights, and other objects via the Internet using GPS or voice commands.
Visitors will also be able to check out a wireless smart home and alarm system that monitors integrated sensors and cameras and creates diverse environments by automating lights, electric curtains, and other home appliances.

STARTUP ISLAND
The startups are making their debut at Exposec and showcasing innovations in the security field to combat crime in various areas. The eight companies chosen to be part of the Startup Island will present solutions for the use of technical labor; access control; online monitoring; and protection for entry and exit of condominiums and houses.
