The opening ceremony of the 26th edition celebrates ABESE's 30th anniversary and consolidates the event as the most important in the sector.
The 26th edition of Exposec – International Security Technology Fair – began this Tuesday, June 10th, in São Paulo. The largest event in Latin America for this sector, the 2025 edition brings major technological innovations and the latest developments to the market. This year's highlights include the integration of artificial intelligence, automation, and connected solutions, as well as presentations of successful case studies in the implementation of dynamic and interconnected tools.
The opening began with a presentation by Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil, organizer of Exposec. Maurício spoke about the relevance of the event for professionals in the sector and society as a whole, due to its direct approach to the challenges faced and the constant search for improvement and solutions. “Once again, Exposec brings together the leading companies and follows the evolution of the public, private, and electronic security segment. The new scenarios proposed here should boost the creation and commercialization of connected digital platforms combined with state-of-the-art equipment. The expectation is for significant growth, information exchange, and major business deals,” he said.
Next, Selma Migliori, president of ABESE – the Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies, which organizes the event – described the 26th Exposec as symbolic and historic due to the celebration of ABESE's 30th anniversary. “We have grown together thanks to the seriousness of our work, the engagement of companies that believe in development, and the professionals who share their knowledge. This year, we will discuss technological, regulatory, and economic challenges that the market must overcome.”.
Selma also released data collected in a groundbreaking survey conducted by ABESE on the sector's outlook for the period 2024-2025. "The Brazilian electronic security segment generated approximately R$14 billion and created more than 5 million direct and indirect jobs," said the president. "The information obtained from the survey will help answer questions and guide the next steps. We will work to anticipate the future and transform challenges into new realities," she concluded.
Also participating in the ceremony were the Municipal Secretary of Urban Security of São Paulo, Orlando Morando, representing Mayor Ricardo Nunes, the General Coordinator of Services and Products of the Federal Police, Cairo Costa Duarte, and the Secretary of Public Security of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Sandro Caron.

Also during the opening ceremony, representatives of the public authorities gave a brief presentation of projects developed in São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul which, due to their innovative approach and application of modern and integrated tools, showed encouraging results in a short period of time.
Secretary Orlando Morando stated that security is a major societal concern and the public service that generates the most expectations at all levels of government. “São Paulo is a technologically enthusiastic city, due to the dynamism and importance of the subject. This is true not only in the capital and large municipalities of the Metropolitan Region, but also in small towns in the interior. We realize that the public security system is unfortunately obsolete and urgently needs new ideas. The demand is clear and needs to be addressed seriously. Events like Exposec are the way to seek solutions and exchange experiences. In just 6 months, the City Hall's Smart Sampa program has shown excellent results, combining the installation of cameras throughout the city and a system integrated with databases registering wanted criminals and missing persons. The results are encouraging, and we will share these experiences during the event,” explained Morando.
Cairo Costa Duarte highlighted that events like Exposec stimulate the emergence of new ideas and make the Brazilian market, its projects, and ambitions a benchmark for other countries. “Latin America is always attentive to the movements and innovations in security practiced in Brazil. The partnership between government and private initiative, both in the development of tools and in the updating of regulations, encourages progress, modernity, and efficiency in security processes,” he concluded.
Finally, Secretary Sandro Caron was succinct and spoke briefly about combating crime. “It is necessary to be effective in operational actions and, for that, to use the available systems to detect the best ways to apply technology to our advantage. Therefore, we developed an innovative platform and launched the RS Seguro program, a digital platform that presents statistics visually, automates calculations, and provides accurate reports for the prevention of incidents at points of attention in the municipalities,” he stated.
In this way, Exposec promises not only to open new perspectives for the market, but also to make it clear that scenarios that were once futuristic are already a reality today and have the potential for much greater precision and effectiveness.
