São Paulo, May 2018The widespread adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) compatible solutions in urban spaces, to the point of intensive technological interconnection, is the first of many steps towards realizing so-called smart cities. This topic will be addressed in... Exposec – International Security Fair, which takes place from May 22nd to 24th at São Paulo Expo, both in the exhibition of new product launches from brands such as Hikvision and Nice, and at Cobrase – the Brazilian Security Congress.
“According to research by Cetic.br released in early May, only 181% of Brazilian municipalities have plans for smart cities. Even so, it is a global trend that we cannot afford to ignore. While our exhibitors will showcase technological solutions, our speakers will cover other areas of this concept,” says Rimantas Sipas, director of Cipa Fiera Milano, the event organizer.
One description of a smart city is one where a substantial number of devices communicate, from smartphones to public security cameras, via the internet with robust data processing, storage, and analysis capabilities. Security is just one of several services that can benefit from this system. Aware of current demand, major brands will be launching products geared towards this future at Exposec.
Like Hikvision Brazil, which will present various solutions geared towards smart cities, such as video surveillance equipment with "deep mind" technology, which analyzes individuals after the camera itself performs facial recognition, in addition to other functions that utilize the equipment's intelligence. According to Osvaldo Nogueira, the brand's technical coordinator, several other types of cameras will be presented, such as multi-sensor and wide-angle cameras, which can capture extensive areas in different types of scenarios.
“We will also have a traffic-focused solution called ITS. This system can differentiate car types, recognize license plates, see if the driver is wearing a seatbelt or talking on a cell phone, and also differentiate details on the vehicle, such as a sticker.” The company provides a full range of solutions, including the switchthat facilitates communication, storagesfor storage and videowall.
Nice, owner of the Genno, Peccinin, and Linear-HCS brands, will present its new products within the MyNice concept of connectivity between all the company's security products. These include the exclusive LN-104N anti-cloning RFID reader and the L350R QR Code reader, which allows condominium residents to send an access code to their visitors for authorization at the entrance. According to Davi Gireli, the company's sales manager, the equipment's distinguishing feature is the ability to record the entry and exit times of each specific visitor in a single file.
At the booth, the MyNice Welcome app will offer end users a simulation of what they can do, such as opening/closing gates and activating locks, lights, and other objects via the internet using GPS or voice commands. Visitors will also be able to check out MyNice World, a wireless smart home and alarm system that monitors integrated sensors and cameras and creates diverse environments through the automation of lights, electric curtains, and other residential equipment, also featuring smoke and flood detectors.
The company will also provide virtual reality glasses so that installers and technicians can immerse themselves in these new possibilities. They will be able to simulate equipment configuration, spare parts inquiries, and budgeting, among other services offered by an application developed specifically for support. Nice will participate in Exposec with high expectations at a time when it is expected to inaugurate a sustainable R$ 35 million headquarters in Limeira (SP) in the second half of 2019, which will enable the expansion of product lines and the local production of items sold in the European market.
Brazilian Security Congress
The final day of Cobrase – the Brazilian Security Congress, May 24th, will be entirely dedicated to the theme "Security in smart cities and the Internet of Things revolution." The day begins with expert Diógenes Lucca addressing the topic "Public Security – The Role of the Press." This professional, with a master's degree in Police Sciences of Security and Public Order, has distinguished himself in the field for never having lost a hostage during a rescue and for having been the negotiator in the Silvio Santos case.
Immediately following, the topic will be "Strategic Security Planning According to the Smart Cities Concept," concluding with "Internet of Things and Integrated Solutions for the Security of Smart Buildings," presented by José Vidal, executive director of ITS – Institute of Software and Services Technology.
