Professionals in the parking industry will have access to market innovations and will also discuss solutions for the sector.
São Paulo, March 2019 Parking professionals from across the country will meet between May 21st and 23rd, 2019 at São Paulo Expo, during the 1st Parking Lab Expo. Held in conjunction with... Exposec – International Security Fair, The event will showcase new technologies and trends for the sector, which in the city of São Paulo alone has over 500,000 parking spaces distributed across 5,400 parking lots, generating approximately 18,000 jobs and serving 60 million vehicles per month, according to Wellington Martins, a parking management specialist.
Aimed at condominiums, hospitals, and the retail market in general, the Parking Lab Expo will also feature an innovation and professional development forum, with discussions on solutions for the sector, presentations of management models, trends, and upcoming market innovations, featuring internationally recognized managers, operators, and specialists.
Martins recalls that the Parking Lab Congress has existed since 2017 and has already had five editions in São Paulo (2), Rio de Janeiro, Goiânia and Fortaleza. “We identified a lack of events that discussed the parking sector and could seek solutions to common problems in the sector,” says the expert.
With the Parking Lab Expo taking place alongside Exposec 2019, Martins believes that "the sector is moving to a new level." "We have two focuses: the search for mobility solutions and the shift in transportation modes; and also the changing profile of parking management professionals, who are moving from being purely operational to being more strategic.".
The Congress will take place from 2 PM to 6 PM on all three days of the fair. On the first day, with the theme "Urban Mobility in Focus," five lectures will be held. The first, on the theme "Urban Mobility and Parking," will be presented by Marcos Rigol, from the Verzani & Sandrini Group; followed by Daniel Kohntopp, from Bike and Park, who will speak about "Adapting shared spaces for the new urban mobility"; "Parking in the age of connectivity" will be addressed by Carolina Edelstein, from Coopark; Kiko Macedo from Mobike will present the lecture "Bike Friendly, Human Being on 2 Wheels"; and Bruno Busquete, from Conectcar, will conclude by talking about "Connected Cars, Mobility and Connectivity Intertwine.".
On the second day of the Congress, the following topics will be discussed: “Professional Training”, with Aureliano Campos, director of Estacionamentoria, who will speak about “You need to develop your Leadership”; followed by Fernando Battestin, HR/DHO manager of the Verzani & Sandrini group, presenting “The importance of Professional Training for Service Providers”. Then there will be a Round Table – The New Profile of the Parking Manager, with Campos and Battestin.
“We have dedicated the 3rd day of the Congress to expanding discussions to the market,” explains Martins. With the theme “A Close Look at the Business,” the following topics will be debated: “Innovations for the parking market,” with Aurélio Campos (Estacionamentoria) and Fernando Braz (Portal Parking); “Shopping Experience,” with Eric Nice (Adlib Digital); “The Importance of Crisis Management in Companies,” with Cristiano Castro (Colégio Porto Seguro); and “Operating licenses for parking lots. A reality?”, with Sanrlei Polini (Sanrlei Polini Soluções).
