Innovation has plenty of room to grow and promises to reduce costs without compromising protection. It will be one of the highlights of Exposec, the largest security trade show in Latin America.
São Paulo, February 2020 – Remote access control is a solution tailored for residential and commercial buildings. With the help of a monitoring center, it allows remote access control for residents and visitors, thus delivering greater security with lower costs – a perfect match. There are reports of cost reductions of up to 50% in the monthly condominium fee.
In Brazil, around 300,000 condominiums have already adopted this trend. It may seem like a lot, but it's important to emphasize that this number doesn't even represent 1% of the total number of buildings in the country.
The growth potential, therefore, is enormous. According to a study by the Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies (Abese), the expectation for 2020 is an increase of 30%. The same study also states that, among the companies that provide the solution, approximately 10% work exclusively with the installation and management of remote access control systems.
Still, condominium owners – quite rightly – fear that technology will lead to the dismissal of hardworking and beloved employees. This, however, does not necessarily happen. According to Abese, a third of these security companies already provide professional retraining for doormen. They then go on to perform other functions within the condominium – or even outside of it.
“Remote concierge services have generated new job and learning opportunities for condominium professionals,” says Selma Migliori, president of the association. “Many companies hire concierges to work in areas such as customer service, installation, maintenance, and operation. It is common, for example, for them to start working in video surveillance centers.”.
Solutions for all budgets and tastes.
Remote access control, and its latest innovations, will be one of the highlights of Exposec, the largest security trade show in Latin America. Several of the 800 exhibiting brands that have already confirmed their presence will showcase solutions that not only fit the concept but also update it.
Ultimately, of the five electronic security trends mentioned by Abese in its report, four complement or comprise remote access control – the fifth trend is remote access control itself. There are references to digital locks, virtual fences, IP technology, and intelligent license plate recognition systems.
ELSYS, one of the confirmed companies, will showcase its Wi-Fi Video Intercom. Ideal for residential and commercial use, the device features motion alerts and night vision with a heat detector. A key feature of this product is the visitor function, with a temporary QR code, allowing for access control management.
“"The customer also has the possibility of controlling access to their residence remotely, through their smartphone, which adds to the concept of a connected home," comments Claudio Blatt, the company's commercial director.
Nice Brasil will showcase the Nice Guarita system. Its key differentiator is its modularity, meaning it can be used in both small and large projects. It features access control for vehicles and pedestrians, functioning even in the event of a communication failure with the central system. In addition to these features, the new generation of the system offers a more intuitive interface, controlled via a touch-sensitive LCD screen.
Came do Brasil's technology, called Came Connect, integrates the owner, via a mobile app, with the security product for their company, condominium, or home. The solution's flexibility is one of its strengths, as it can be used with gates, turnstiles, electronic gates, or intercoms, and serves both for monitoring and online tracking.
Finally, MinhaPortaria.com will present a new version of its Plug and Play kit. This allows for faster installation of remote access control systems and customization to meet the establishment's needs, improving efficiency and minimizing costs. "Exposec is very important in the electronic security sector. Therefore, it's the best environment to demonstrate our growth, evolution, and service methodology," says Walter Uvo, the company's technology specialist.
