In yet another edition, the ABESE Arena Connect brings to Exposec 2022 a technology hub focused on Electronic Security.. Curated by the Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies (Abese), the space features, among its attractions, an auditorium for lectures with industry experts, as well as stands dedicated to market innovations, such as... Startup Island and Innovation Island.
One of the exhibitors present at the Innovation Island is... Institute of Exponential Technologies, Itex, whose mission is to leverage technology and education, and to promote the development of open software and hardware in Brazil. Born at the University of São Paulo, it brought to the fair platforms already built and pilot projects under development – in partnership with private companies, such as vehicle manufacturers, and public sector entities.
Geovane Fedrecheski, a researcher and software engineer at Itex, highlights two new developments from the institute currently on display at the island. The first, called Labrador, is a computer the size of a credit card that, equipped with artificial intelligence, is capable of detecting life-threatening conditions and immediately notifying the Military Police – one of the Military Police cars is expected to receive a Labrador soon. Another project is a modular board that, when installed in a traffic light, can make it intelligent, optimizing opening times.
Already Federal Institute of Ceará (IFCE) He came to Exposec with the mission of presenting the Business Idea Germination Program, PGINI, which is in its second edition. It is a competition between teams of students that offers those selected the opportunity to develop applied research activities in innovative businesses, under the guidance of IFCE professionals.
“We have students from the first edition who have turned their plans into reality. The impact on entrepreneurial behavior, therefore, is already being felt,” stated Rachel Serra Ximenes, a professor at IFCE in the area of business administration. “We take a student without a business-oriented background, who doesn't believe in themselves, and we help their ideas germinate. We bridge the gap between the classroom and the market,” added Aureliano Ximenes, a professor in the same area.
