From the Newsroom – The Greater ABC Intermunicipal Consortium and the Greater ABC Economic Development Agency participated, this Thursday (June 9th), in the closing of the International Security Fair (Exposec), held at São Paulo Expo, in the southern part of the capital.
The event was promoted by the Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies (Abese) and brought together the latest technologies, products and services for the security sector, with national and international representatives from the production chain.
The Greater ABC region was highlighted in two panels on innovation initiatives connecting public and private organizations. Representing the president of the ABC Consortium and mayor of Santo André, Paulo Serra, the entity's Director of Economic Development, Joel Fonseca, emphasized some of the region's main challenges, such as environmental issues and the maintenance of industrial areas.
“"Given this, the role of the ABC Consortium is fundamental, as it provides a regional perspective to public managers and facilitates decision-making and the implementation of public policies for the seven cities," said Fonseca.
The president of the Development Agency, Aroaldo Oliveira da Silva, presented economic data for the region, as well as actions to promote innovation and economic recovery in the seven cities.
“We are developing initiatives with the State Government, the municipalities of São Paulo and Greater ABC, universities, and Sebrae. Our goal is to engage with all these issues and participate in the innovation ecosystem in areas such as tourism, industry, and health,” Oliveira stated.
