Held between June 7th and 9th at São Paulo Expo, the fair was a success in terms of audience and business. Selma Migliori, president of Abese; and Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil, promoters of the International Security Fair (Exposec), provide their assessment of this edition and discuss the positive results achieved. Plans for 2023 are already underway.
“We are very happy with the results of this edition of Exposec! The return of the in-person fair, after two years of pandemic, was very successful and surprised us on all levels. The exhibitors, for example, demonstrated their satisfaction with their participation on the very first day, given the record-breaking number of visitors. We were very much in need of these reunions, these exchanges of experiences, and what we experienced these three days made it clear how important this is for the security sector,” expressed Selma Migliori, president of the Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies (Abese).
She summarizes this edition of Exposec It rests on two pillars: the relationship pillar, since the fair is the meeting point for the electronic security market; and the innovation pillar, with a great deal of innovative technology and integrated solutions available to help care for people and society, thus consolidating the fair's role.
Furthermore, according to Selma, being a trade fair increasingly recognized for its connected security is the differentiating factor that has been built with each edition. “Each year we are seeking more connections, including with related segments that are part of an ecosystem that interacts with the players in the security market. So much so that next year the growth perspective is in the amount of 20% compared to this edition,” she says.
For Selma, Exposec is a great technological platform that promotes many good business deals, which will certainly continue until the end of 2022. “This edition is a springboard for us to reach even higher indicators than those achieved in 2019. To do this, we rely on partnerships. We are seeking other market segments, other supporters, to expand the ecosystem. This aligns with our motto: 'connect because together we are stronger' and reinforces that the union of forces will make us grow even more,‘ she emphasized.
Exceeding expectations was also highlighted by Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brazil, which promotes Exposec together with Abese. “It is very gratifying to walk through the aisles of the fair and see the excitement of the exhibitors with the in-person reunion, after two years with this gap in the market without the fair, and for the business opportunities that are being formed at the event. Everyone is highlighting the volume of deals that are being closed, many are renewing partnerships, formalizing new contacts and prospects,” he says.
According to Macedo, the qualified audience is also one of the differentiating factors highlighted by the exhibitors. “We are very happy to conclude this edition of the fair with this optimism in the air. It's a feeling of a job well done. We had several challenges that are normal in a return to in-person events, with bottlenecks in the sector's production chain, but these were overcome. Business owners came to exhibit, professionals in the field showed their support, and this demonstrates that people enjoy this face-to-face contact, and we returned with great quality and success,” he emphasized.
Regarding growth rates compared to the last edition, Macedo pointed to an area of around 15%. In terms of audience, he recalls that in the weeks leading up to the event there were already more than 21,000 pre-registered attendees compared to 14,000 in 2019. “This year we have already recorded a record audience on the first day. The fair is bigger, with new players in the security ecosystem. With this, we consider that we have had growth of at least between 10 and 15% overall,” he predicts.
Plans for 2023 are already underway. Macedo reports that the event will take place from June 13th to 15th, with new attractions and the presence of new sectors. “This edition of Exposec demonstrated its consolidation through the quality of the audience and exhibitors, and it is already a great indicator of the security sector, signaling that the next edition will be even better,” he points out. He also highlights that the partnership with Abese, given its expertise and representativeness in the electronic security sector, is fundamental to the success of the event and brings the prospect that Exposec will continue to grow even more.
