ABESE releases revenue and sector projections for 2018.

The electronic security market is projected to grow by 8% in 2018.

With revenues of R$6.04 billion in 2017, the electronic security sector presents positive expectations for the Brazilian market. This statement comes from the president of the Brazilian Association of Electronic Security (Abese), Selma Migliori. "We should grow 21% more than last year due to a slight market upturn, particularly in the video surveillance and remote access control segments," she analyzes.

According to data from the Social Progress Imperative, Brazil is the 11th most unsafe country in the world, which reflects the great potential for the application of these technologies. In the city of São Paulo alone, there are one million cameras installed – one for every 7 inhabitants.

The electronic security systems segment has registered an average growth of 81% over the last five years. The sector comprises more than 26,000 electronic security companies, generating 200,000 direct jobs and more than 1.7 million indirect jobs. Today, there are approximately 815,000 properties with electronic security systems in the country.

Exposec – the International Security Fair, promoted annually by Abese – reflects these opportunities: it is the largest electronic security fair in Latin America, and the last edition had the participation of more than 42,000 professionals from the sector. This year, in its 21st edition, the event takes place from... May 22nd to 24th, at São Paulo Expo, and already has 800 confirmed brands.
