This year, the Exposec – International Security Fair It will stand out in the access control segment, one of the three main segments that propelled the electronic security industry to a revenue of R$6 billion in 2017. The data comes from... Abese – Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies, which indicates that violence is the main reason for the sector's average growth of 8% over the last three years.
The current scenario has encouraged an above-average number of access control manufacturers to seek participation in Exposec, Brazil's largest security event, which for over 20 years has been launching the latest innovations in electronic, private, personal, public, property, and business security. CAME do Brasil and Control iD, leading companies in the sector, are among the dozens of companies that will be launching their most recent and exclusive solutions in the country during the fair.
According to Marco Antonio Barbosa, director of CAME Brazil, access control to properties is one of the primary security alternatives for citizens facing violence. "In 2017, we experienced growth of 30% and expanded our services to Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Chile, whose populations also seek products with advanced technology," he emphasizes.
Among the products the brand will bring to Brazil are automatic gates and doors with brushless motor systems, the Xvia turnstile – recently presented in Milan – and the G6 Evo retractable bollard. This bollard is capable of stopping a 7.5-ton truck traveling at 80 km/h, a common tactic in robbery attempts using vehicles to break into establishments.
According to Barbosa, Exposec is the main annual showcase for displaying products and technologies to the industry, serving as the primary channel for contacting new partners and generating business throughout the rest of the year. Selma Migliori, president of Abese, endorses the importance of the fair for the market. "Exposec has been evolving every year and today, in its 21st edition, it is the major technological stage for the electronic security segment in Latin America," she says.
Albert Nissimoff, Technology Director at Control iD, points out that the economic crisis has increased the demand for access control because security concerns have become more prominent in the lives of Brazilians. “In 2017, we doubled our revenue in this segment and have even better prospects for this year. We have also started exporting to Latin America,” says the executive.
The company will launch an entire line of products integrated into its own on-premise (iDSecure) or cloud-based (iDCloud) access control solution, meeting the demands for security, flexibility, and low cost that permeate the Brazilian market. The list includes iDAccess, iDFit, iDFlex, and iDTouch, with access release options via biometrics, password, card, and even an integrated alarm system in some cases, in addition to the silent iDBlock turnstile with a touchscreen system.
According to Abese, the other two sectors that boosted the revenue of the electronic security industry in 2017 were property security, with approximately 1,500 remote access control systems installed in Brazil, almost half of them in the city of São Paulo; and public security, with 80,000 cameras installed in Vitória, equivalent to one for every 23 inhabitants, and one million cameras in São Paulo, or 7 for every inhabitant.
