Between the 10th and 12th, Agrale was represented at the 19th EXPOSEC, International Security Fair, considered the main technological showcase in Latin America for the sector. The manufacturer's participation in the event was through a partnership with the multinational DuPont, with the exhibition of a Marruá AM200 double cab utility vehicle. Alongside the vehicle, two armored doors at military level III Plus by COMTEC, also an Agrale armoring partner, as is DuPont, were displayed.
The public at the Fair, held in São Paulo (SP), could see the doors that had been ballistically tested and approved to withstand attacks with 7.62 x 51, 7.62 x 59, 556 and 12-gauge rifles. The result impressed with the resistance and robustness of the design, which uses an innovative material, ultra-high-density polyethylene. “Agrale innovates by presenting the only national model designed to receive armor over the vehicle's structure, maintaining its original body, chassis and engine. This proposal aims to meet the demands of Marruá's largest customers, which are the Brazilian Army and the export market, as well as the police forces. It also opens doors to the civilian public looking for a vehicle with robustness, resistance and, above all, safety as a priority,” highlights Ricardo Takeo, Product Engineering Manager at Agrale.
The Agrale Marruá line, due to its military DNA, differs from the design of a conventional 4x4 vehicle. Therefore, it is well-suited for activities requiring robust and versatile off-road 4x4 vehicles. These activities include those of police and security forces, environmental and rural patrolling, among others.
One of the highlights is that the Marruá combines the ability to transport troops to hard-to-reach locations quickly and practically with the possibility of transporting cargo, equipment, and implements, due to its large interior space and its GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) exceeding that of conventional pickup trucks, uniting the versatility of a utility vehicle with the robustness of a truck.
The partnership between Agrale and DuPont began in 2014, following the launch of the New Generation Marruá. A year earlier, Agrale received the highest award from the Pró-Defesa program for Research and Development in Vehicle Armoring. This new generation of the Marruá already considered the installation of armoring in its design, maintaining the vehicle's original characteristics and, therefore, its factory warranty.
