São Paulo, October 2017– The organizer and promoter CIPA Fiera Milano officially launched another edition of the fairs on Wednesday, October 4th, in São Paulo. EBRATS – Brazilian Meeting and Exhibition on Surface Treatmentse FEITINTAS – Trade Fair for the Paint, Varnish and Related Products Industry. For the first time, both events will be held simultaneously with the FESQUA – International Trade Fair for Windows, Doors, Hardware and Components on the same days and location. The Fairstarão abertas ao público de September 12th and 15th, 2018, at São Paulo Expo.

The new format for holding the trade fairs jointly aims to facilitate access and integration for the public, as well as improve the logistics of the exhibitions for companies, according to the commercial director of CIPA Fiera Milano, Rimantas Sipas. In previous years, FEITINTAS and FESQUA were held separately from EBRATS. The organizers expect to receive around 40,000 people and more than 700 exhibiting brands.

Sipas reported that on the launch day alone, approximately 70% of the available booth spaces at EBRATS were sold. “This positively surprised us, indicating a recovery in business, which we already noticed this year, and which will be much more consolidated next year,” stated Sipas. “Holding trade shows is a great opportunity for companies to take advantage of the positive economic recovery and showcase their brands,” he added.

The president of SITIVESP shares the same assessment of business growth for 2018. According to him, the market for industrial paints, real estate paints, automotive refinishing, and related products went through the period from 2013 to 2016 without business expansion. "This year, however, we are seeing a slight recovery, and next year we believe the movement will be very good," he said.

Narciso Moreira also highlighted the strategic planning work carried out by SITIVESP, which is allowing for even closer ties with ABRAFATI (Brazilian Association of Paint Manufacturers) and the definition of competencies that will be managed by each of the entities. "We need to make the best possible use of what the sector truly offers.".

Airi Zanini, president of ABTS (Brazilian Association of Surface Treatments) and general director of Anion MacDermid Brazil, also points out that other sectors of the economy, such as the real estate market, home appliances (white goods), and furniture, have also been showing positive performance data. He believes it is important for surface treatment companies to be present at EBRATS, "so they can discuss innovations in the sector and showcase their new products to the market.".

According to exhibitor Milton Morais Silveira Júnior, CEO of Atotech, EBRATS is a great event where there is an opportunity to strengthen the company's brand and have closer contact with customers. "We have participated in almost every edition and it is also a time for us to get together," he said.

During the launch event for the trade fairs, anthropologist Luiz Marins, invited by Cipa Fiera Milano to give a lecture on investment opportunities, explained to the businesspeople present the competitive advantages of Brazil compared to other countries such as China, India, Indonesia, Turkey, and Russia. According to Marins, in the eyes of foreign investors, in addition to Brazil being among the 10 largest economies in the world, it is a place that does not have the problems present in those nations, such as ethnic or religious issues, border conflicts, and language barriers. "Investors are more interested in our economy, which has the best agribusiness in the world, for example, so we need to start preparing to emerge from this crisis, beginning to see the opportunities that will arise," he recommended.
