Fiera Milano reinforces its interest in the national market with a focus on the security sector.

The Group's global CEO, Corrado Peraboni, was in the country to strengthen strategic relationships and local partnerships.

Recognizing the strategic importance that Brazil represents on the global stage, Fiera Milano, one of the world's leading trade fair organizers, held a meeting on Wednesday, November 11th, bringing together partners, businesspeople, and representatives of various organizations. The event took place at Terraço Itália in São Paulo.

The meeting took place during the visit of the newly appointed global CEO of Fiera Milano, Corrado Peraboni, who came to the country to strengthen strategic alliances with associations and authorities, as well as to present the Fiera Milano project worldwide and demonstrate the size and scope of the market to Brazilian businesspeople.

As a market leader in Italy, Fiera Milano attracts around five million visitors annually. Last year, 113 events were held (51 in Italy and 62 abroad), with the participation of nearly 33,000 exhibitors – 22,000 from fairs in Italy and almost 11,000 from events in other countries, including China, India, Brazil, South Africa, Russia, and Thailand.

In this context, the Group reinforces Brazil as one of its priority markets. In addition to strategic actions for business development, Fiera Milano's focus in the country, through its subsidiary Cipa Fiera Milano, is to continue strengthening already established and market-leading events such as Exposec | International Security Fair, the leading technological showcase in Latin America for the electronic security systems market, and FISP | International Security and Protection Fair, the largest event in the sector in Latin America focused on worker safety and health.

On that occasion, Peraboni highlighted that the direct presence in the city of São Paulo, headquarters of the company Cipa Fiera Milano, was strategically chosen since it is where the major international groups are present. He also presented the various opportunities that Fiera Milano offers, through its global network, to maximize the exposure and business of exhibiting companies during the events.

Another point discussed was the synergy between the products of the parent company in Milan and the subsidiary in Brazil. An example of this partnership will be realized between Sicurezza, a biennial trade fair focused on the security sector, held in Italy, and Exposec, allowing for a broad exchange of business, information, and technologies. “In 2016, Exposec will have extensive cooperation from the Fiera Milano headquarters and the Italian Government, represented by the Italian Trade Agency – ITA, with the participation of 15 Italian exhibitors. This will be the first step in a concrete exchange.”, "The executive stated.".

Reinforcing its strategy of focusing on leading trade shows in the sector, working with unique and leading products in the country, Graziano Messana, CFO of Cipa Fiera Milano, presented some data from the Group's portfolio. Cipa Fiera Milano has a diverse calendar, consisting of 10 exhibitions covering the segments of occupational health and safety; electronic security; construction (pipe, wire and cable, window and glass industries); energy, environment and sustainability; and technologies for rehabilitation, inclusion and accessibility, occupying more than 160,000 m².2 and attract around three thousand exhibitors and over 200,000 visitors annually.

Among those present were Michele Pala, Consul General of Italy in São Paulo; Erica Di Giovancarlo, director of the Italian Trade Agency – ITA in Brazil; Edoardo Pollastri and Nico Rossini, respectively president and vice-president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce; and Rimantas Sipas, Commercial Director of Cipa Fiera Milano. Also at the event were presidents and representatives of partner associations and unions such as ABESE – Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies; SESVESP – Union of Private Security and Electronic Security Companies; ABRASEG – Brazilian Association of Distributors and Importers of Safety and Occupational Protection Equipment and Products; ANIMASEG – National Association of the Safety and Occupational Protection Equipment Industry; SINDISEG – Union of the Security Equipment Industry; ABITAM – Brazilian Association of the Metal Pipe and Fittings Industry; ANAVIDRO – National Association of Glazing Companies; and ABRIDEF – Brazilian Association of Industries and Retailers of Products and Services for People with Disabilities.
