Cata Company, a technology company from Florian\u00f3polis, will launch a groundbreaking piece of equipment for protecting cash at the largest security fair in Latin America, Exposec (May 23-25).<\/p>\n

The Super Locker, as it's called, is the company's big bet to definitively curb break-ins at cash-in-transit facilities belonging to cash-in-transit companies, banks, treasury rooms, and armored trucks. Initially marketed to the Brazilian market, the company also intends to export the product to other countries, mainly the United States, where it already has a sales office.<\/p>\n

The equipment was developed to guarantee the complete security of money and the protection of employees of transport companies and banks, who have been suffering from constant attacks. The violence of the robberies terrorizes Brazil, especially the interior of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n

From November 2015 to September 2016, for example, at least five major robberies of cash-in-transit companies were recorded in the cities of Campinas, Santos, Ribeir\u00e3o Preto, and Santo Andr\u00e9. In total, approximately R$160 million was stolen in these cities, in Bahia and Par\u00e1, and at least five people died.<\/p>\n

The project, compliant with global security standards, consists of a Power and Control Module (MEC) and Banknote Destroying Modules (MDC). One of the equipment's main innovations allows banknotes to have 40% of their faces destroyed when the device is activated, preventing them from being used and guaranteeing the custodian reimbursement of their value.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are already negotiating with major cash-in-transit companies and will continue investing in more innovation in the financial and security sector,\u201d says Victor Levy, founder and CEO of the company, which already has 14 patent, trademark, design, and industrial property applications and registrations, both national and international.<\/p>\n

Export<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to the CataTech product line, which develops the Super Wardrobe, the company has two other lines focused on the retail and financial markets.<\/p>\n

The first product marketed was CataMoeda, which has already exchanged more than 150 million coins for banknotes, donations, shopping vouchers, and mobile phone top-ups, and is integrated with more than 130 retail networks in over 350 locations across 22 Brazilian states, the United States, Australia, and Asia.<\/p>\n

There is also the line of high-tech smart safes, called CataCash, sold in Brazil, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, and Paraguay. The more compact "One" model caters to small and medium-sized retailers, while the "Mille," launched in the first half of this year, is a high-performance safe with greater storage capacity.<\/p>\n

Investment<\/strong><\/p>\n

In March, Cata Company received a new investment of R$14T 5 million from the Sul Inova\u00e7\u00e3o Fund, managed by Bzplan. The investment will be used for the development of new products, expansion of the team (especially in R&D, sales and technical support) and international expansion of the company.<\/p>\n

Since October 2016, the company has had a business unit in Florida, United States, where it markets CataCash and CataCoin products. Levy expects to generate R$ 41 million in revenue next year, with 15% of 2017 profits expected to come from exports.<\/span><\/p>\n
