With over 26,000 companies in the country, the Electronic Security market grows by an average of 8% per year, with 10% registered in 2019, according to a survey by Abese (Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies). However, the sector has a repressed demand, both in public and private security, for solutions that use artificial intelligence, sensors, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to help prevent or resolve incidents without the use of lethal weapons \u2013 which remain restricted to police authorities or authorized security companies.<\/p>\n
With the Covid-19 crisis, the electronic security sector gained even more visibility and demand grew. And it should maintain a prominent position when the pandemic ends. This is the opinion of Edson Pacheco, coordinator of the Startup Committee of Abese, which, together with Cipa Fiera Milano, is organizing the 23rd Exposec \u2013 International Security Fair.<\/p>\n
For Pacheco, every moment of crisis is a catalyst for new solutions. \u201cAbese has been betting on startups as drivers of successful experiments in the electronic security segment. So much so that three years ago we created the Startup Island at Exposec and since then we have been presenting practical and low-cost solutions for the segment to the fair's audience.\u201d.<\/p>\n
Many of these solutions are already being used during the period of social isolation. Surveillance using drones, video conferencing, which was previously underutilized; there is also the collect spot, which is a delivery box installed in commercial establishments in hard-to-reach areas, where the post office can leave mail or packages for the person to pick up later. These are some examples of resources that should remain in use going forward.<\/p>\n
Pacheco himself is the CEO of Tanpo, a company that emerged from the first Startup Island at Exposec three years ago. "We offer on-demand installation and maintenance services for security equipment," he explains. "In other words, the company doesn't have the cost of maintaining professionals to install and maintain its equipment and only pays for the service it contracts with us.".<\/p>\n
Drones for business surveillance<\/strong> According to Ramalho, the company offers a complete monitoring service. \u201cFrom the drone itself to video monitoring, everything can be done by us. We can also contract just the monitoring service if the company already owns the drone,\u201d he explains. \u201cThis way, they can operate, manage, and receive real-time data from a fleet of drones from a single remote control center.\u201d.<\/p>\n Ramalho points out that automatic patrols can also be programmed for monitoring large areas. "I believe it's unlikely we'll revert to the previous status quo after these entrepreneurs started using our system.".<\/p>\n Beatriz Candido di Paolo, from the mywork Marketing team, says that "the company is working hard to help old and new clients deal with the crisis, in an attempt to lessen the impact on their businesses in some way." "We are extending the trial period of mywork's online time tracking system for new clients seeking the solution, and we are working very closely with existing clients to understand the anxieties and needs of each one at this time.".<\/p>\n Since the company offers solutions for the human resources departments of small and medium-sized businesses to resolve their problems with time tracking, vacation management, document management, absence and lateness control, communication with accountants, and many other day-to-day difficulties, social isolation has become a new challenge. \u201cNow, even with the crisis, mywork already has many clients who, by adopting a work-from-home policy for their employees, sought a practical and secure service to make this transition from office work to remote work.
