The 25th Exposec points to the fair's growth and announces the participation of new segments of the sector.

The opening ceremony of the 25th Exposec – International Security Fair was held at the end of the first day of the event at São Paulo Expo, and was attended by representatives from the private and public sectors at the municipal, state and federal levels.

To discuss the importance of another edition of the fair and its fundamental relevance to the advancement of public and private security, among the authorities present were Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil, the event's organizer; Selma Migliori, president of ABESE – the Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies, organizer of Exposec; Cristiano Campidelli, general coordinator of Services and Products of the Federal Police; Alcides Fagotti Júnior, Acting Municipal Secretary of Urban Security representing the Mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes; Márcio José Pontes, Secretary of Security of the city of Guarulhos, representing Mayor José María Gutiérrez Hernández, known as Gutti; and Davison Gonzaga da Silva, Certification Manager of the National Telecommunications Agency – ANATEL, representing President Carlos Manuel Baigorri.

Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil, opened the ceremony by presenting the fair's growth in numbers, emphasizing that the 2024 edition has already surpassed all previous ones.

In 2022 we had the biggest edition ever, which was surpassed by the 2023 edition. Now, in 2024, we are again opening the fair as the biggest ever. We increased the exhibition area by 10% and the number of pre-registered attendees by 30% up to the opening of the event. There were 35,000 pre-registered visitors, with 85% of them being decision-makers,” says Macedo.

And this increase extends to the sector's coverage area. Selma Migliori, president of ABESE, stated that For the 2025 edition, the organization is working to include and expand sectors such as automotive, special intelligence, cybersecurity, and small internet service providers.

“These technologies are already present in this edition, but we understand that it is time to structure an even larger and more specific space for these resources, which are directly or indirectly related to the growth and application of electronic security in Brazil, whether in rural or urban areas. With this, we reaffirm Exposec's commitment as a meeting point to discuss these and other issues, share knowledge, and explore solutions that can shape a safer future,” says Migliori.

Regulation and partnerships

In a speech marked by good humor, Davison Gonzaga da Silva, Certification Manager at the National Telecommunications Agency – ANATEL, recalled the agency's important role, which goes beyond problems with telephone operators.

"Anatel's role is also to regulate technologies. All of us who use wireless security systems share the medium. Therefore, there is a need for regulation to control this. These technologies also derive from other solutions such as network technologies, security systems, private Wi-Fi network systems, NBR, among other solutions that are widely used for security systems," says the agency's manager.

Already Alcides Fagotti Junior, Municipal Secretary of Urban Security for the City of São Paulo, highlighted the importance of partnerships to integrate technologies and promote safer cities. Fagotti stated that The federal government legislates on security, and the state government has constitutional authority over it. However, people are increasingly demanding that municipalities provide urban security, which involves not only preventative measures but also lighting, traffic lights, and other technologies.

“Since the end of 2023, we have had SmartSampa, a camera program that uses an integrating platform. We aim to deploy 20,000 cameras owned by the São Paulo city hall by the end of the year. To contribute to security, we will include Artificial Intelligence in the citizen's camera, which sometimes doesn't have this feature, but we can do it through the platform. We strongly believe in this union of the private and public sectors for the sake of the city's security,” said the municipal secretary.
