Security trade show presents technologies and trends for the market.

It is noticeable that the problems of the Brazilian economy, which were already enormous, have become even greater. Private security proved to be essential throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Some sectors, such as healthcare, reinforced their security personnel. Others, however, drastically reduced their teams.

The service sector, which includes private security, suffered a sharp drop in GDP to -4.51%, according to data from CAGED, the general register of employed and unemployed workers of the Ministry of Economy. This decline led to numerous layoffs and a shift from human security services to technology.

Roberto Coletti, CEO of Grupo KR4, a security and facilities solutions company, explains that during the Covid-19 pandemic, companies that prepared for this digital transformation gained an advantage by taking advantage of what digital technology has to offer. "However, the economic crisis triggered a change in mindset, forcing companies to go beyond the conventional, taking the opportunity to incorporate technology in order to survive.".

According to Antonio Neves, Sr. Country Security Manager – Head of Security at a multinational food and beverage company, the result is a stronger sector. The creation of solutions allows for greater productivity in organizations and, consequently, smarter work.

Companies with technology solutions can help small and large businesses.

According to the entrepreneur, small businesses need customized solutions that are easy to implement. A clear example is remote access control systems, which are becoming increasingly common in residential condominiums.

Large organizations, on the other hand, need more robust and integrated solutions with the most diverse software on the market. In this case, the solutions range from applications to automated drones that fly continuously for 24 hours a day performing security patrols. “This year we saw the return of trade shows. Held between June 7th and 9th in São Paulo, the EXPOSEC "It was a success. There was a lot of networking between exhibitors and visitors," the entrepreneur points out.

During these two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, there were no in-person events. This exchange of experience, the famous "face-to-face" interaction, the handshake, is of real importance to the security market, says Antonio Neves.

For entrepreneurs, technological innovations occur daily, and those who qualify and position themselves first in this digital transformation will come out ahead. On the other hand, in their view, it is difficult for existing companies to keep up with new technologies and almost impossible to change their business strategy in such a short period of time.

“Consequently, this leads to an ever-widening gap for new entrants who are born with the strategy of selling solutions and not simply security solely through people,” he states. When questioned about the limit to innovation, Coletti considers it to be the same as the limit to creativity: none. “The humanization of technology will be the great differentiator for companies seeking to win the game,” he concludes.
