Scratch-off tickets reward the first winners in the Mother's Day Campaign in Garça.
2019 was a year of new developments, changes, and experiments. Consumers in Garça and the surrounding region had the chance to win prizes by participating in campaigns promoted by the Garça Commercial and Industrial Association (Acig) on commemorative dates. Nothing new there, but moving beyond traditional coupons, this year Acig introduced scratch-off cards.
During 2019, R$75,000 in prizes were raffled off, in reference to the association's 75th anniversary. The first winning scratch-off ticket was drawn for consumer Claudinei, who made his purchases at Freire Motos, winning the R$75 prize. Following his lucky streak, salesman Leonardo also won a prize.
“It was the first winning scratch-off ticket, and the seller was also entitled to the prize. We adopted a computerized and automated system for registering customers. The scratch-off ticket registration automatically generates coupon numbers in the system with the consumer's data,” explained manager Fábio Dias.
Acig/Sebrae here presents the course “Na Medida Internet” (Tailored for the Internet).”
May truly arrived in full force. In partnership with Sebrae Aqui de Garça, Acig held the "Na Medida Internet" course on May 8th, 9th, 15th, and 16th, 2019. The course aimed to support entrepreneurs in analyzing the opportunities and tools that the internet offers to start or expand their digital business.
According to manager Fábio Dias, it's not just about buying or selling online, but about learning how to use this tool to your advantage. And, instead of the internet becoming a competitor to the retailer, since it sells many products, it can become an ally.
“"SEBRAE believes in the power of the internet and therefore has developed a set of products for micro-enterprise entrepreneurs to expand their network of contacts, structure their relationships with customers, publicize and promote sales, and improve their administrative, financial and human resources management," said Fábio Dias.
Participants learned how to build their own blogs, websites, online stores, and Twitter accounts, as well as gaining knowledge about internet search engines, social networks, and AdWords.
Association promotes distribution of roses in honor of Mother's Day.
Always mindful of commemorative dates, on May 11th, the day before Mother's Day, amidst the hustle and bustle that the second Saturday of the month brings, with many consumers on the streets, some complaining about the lack of parking spaces, others taking advantage of offers, and still others paying bills, the Commercial and Industrial Association of Garça – Acig – promoted the distribution of approximately 1,500 roses to mothers who were in the commercial center.
“It’s a time when we seek to honor mothers through the distribution of roses. More than just a commercial appeal, it’s a very significant date; women, mothers, play a fundamental role in the family structure,” said President João Francisco Galhardo.
“We did so little. It was a rose, on a Saturday morning, but the joy was contagious. For us, the Acig team, it's as if we were giving gifts to our mothers, wives. What we have is respect and affection for all the mothers of Garça,” said the manager, highlighting the emotion that marked the action.
ACIG presents the lecture “Many want change, but few want to change”
The Commercial and Industrial Association of Garça held a lecture on May 23rd entitled "Many want change, but few want to change." According to the association's manager, Fábio Dias, everything changes very quickly these days, and it's necessary to keep up with the entire process to avoid falling behind. The fact is that, despite everything, change brings disruption and challenges, and not everyone is willing to change.
“What used to work, doesn’t always work anymore. We need to learn to deal better with change in order to take advantage of the opportunities that come with it. One of the main reasons that prevents us from better addressing the need for change is the fear of facing the new,” said Dias.
It was with this problem in mind that the association organized the lecture, aiming to highlight the positive aspects as well as the need for change.
“"The Leader Who Generates Profits": Acig completed another class of the course in May.
Continuing with another of its projects, Acig, which aims to transform its focus on knowledge acquisition into action, has completed another class participating in the "The Leader Who Generates Profits" course. According to manager Fábio Dias, the participation of entrepreneurs from Garça shows that, in a scenario where there is talk of crisis, knowledge makes all the difference.
Fábio Dias pointed out that there is a concern, especially on the part of entrepreneurs, to invest in infrastructure, products, processes, technology, technical skills, machinery, and equipment. This is important, but it is well known that the performance of a leader makes all the difference, and those who study workplace relationships know very well that the leader is not always the boss.
According to the president of Acig, João Francisco Galhardo, there are several situations that consume energy and prevent entrepreneurs from generating more profits.
“Sometimes what’s missing is preparing an action plan, but for that, you need to define a goal. Often, entrepreneurs have many ideas to improve results but don’t know how to communicate them to the team. The leader plays an important role in this context. Leading is about solving problems, and a problem is any result that differs from the desired result,” commented Galhardo.
A customer of the Serve Todos supermarket wins the five thousand reais prize from the Mother's Day raffle.
On May 15th, the Mother's Day raffle took place at the headquarters of the Garça Commercial and Industrial Association, concluding the campaign which featured a new digital prize system with various instant prizes on scratch-off tickets.
Consumer Juliana Madureira de Souza Moreno won the prize of five thousand reais on the Accredito Premium Card to spend in Garça's businesses. Juliana shopped at the Serve Todos Supermarket, which also produced the winner of the 500 reais prize, also drawn on May 15th.
Taking stock of the first digital campaign carried out by Acig, Dias commented that, like any new thing, there was a moment of distrust and resistance, but there was also acceptance and overcoming of these challenges.
“Many were afraid of the distribution, but consumers themselves embraced it and saw the scratch-off coupon as a better opportunity, since they often left the traditional coupons lost in bags, drawers, and around the house. Many reported that they didn't like filling them out,” said the manager.
ACIG participates in the inauguration ceremony of the new Facesp board of directors.
The Commercial and Industrial Association of Garça participated on May 23rd in the inauguration ceremony of the new board of directors of the Federation of Commercial Associations of São Paulo (Facesp), for the 2019-2020 term. Twenty vice-presidents of the FACESP Administrative Regions also took office. The president of ACIG, João Francisco Galhardo, and the manager, Fábio Dias, were present.
“"It was a very important moment, one of the most important ceremonies for our association, where we were able to honor President Alencar Burti, who left his position, and Alfredo Cotait Neto, from Garça, who assumed the presidency," said Galhardo.
The event, which took place at Monte Líbano in São Paulo, was attended by the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, the Governor of São Paulo, João Doria, the Mayor of São Paulo, Bruno Covas, as well as other authorities.
More than a thousand businesspeople affiliated with Facesp attended the event.
“"Besides following the transition in the leadership of our federation, it's always good to hear what authorities like the governor of our state and the Minister of Economy think," said Fábio Dias.
Galhardo also mentioned his inauguration as vice-president of Facesp, in Administrative Region number 15, where Acig is located.
“This position will be filled by the Marília businessman, Adriano Luiz Martins, president of the Marília Commercial Association, elected in an election held in February of this year. At the time, ACIG also competed for the position through our former president Luiz Carlos de Souza, who obtained nine votes. The difference was only one vote, which also shows the importance and respect that ACIG has earned in the Administrative Region. Because of this entire trajectory and the trust that many place in us, it was important to be present at the event,” said Galhardo.
May also included orientation sessions: ACIG and Boa Vista Serviços explained what a credit score is and how it can help people obtain credit.
Paying all bills on time can generate far more benefits than one might normally imagine. This behavior, in addition to ensuring your name isn't added to a negative credit list, helps when seeking credit or financing, benefits that become more difficult to access when you have a "bad credit history.".
And it is precisely to define the behavior of each consumer and ensure a more qualified and fair credit analysis and granting that the market uses a score, a rating given to each consumer by database management companies, such as Boa Vista. To better clarify what a score is, Boa Vista answers the most common consumer questions: So, what exactly is a score?
Score is an English word that in Portuguese means 'pontuação' (score/score). The term 'credit score' refers to a consumer's score for obtaining credit, whether through loans, financing, or installment plans. In other words, it helps consumers and businesses conduct credit transactions with lower costs, greater security, and speed.
The credit score is a calculation that considers, among other factors, payment history, from everyday bills to longer-term financing. With this information, lenders assess whether, within their credit policy – each company establishes its own – the consumer can receive terms and rates more suited to their profile. Without the credit score and only with information on overdue debts, the lending process is not as secure and accurate.
The joint effort to file the annual tax return for Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI) ended in May.
The joint effort to prepare the annual MEI (Individual Microentrepreneur) tax return, organized by Sebrae Aqui, ended on May 31st. Vanessa Merighe, from Sebrae Aqui in Garça, explained that the focus was on providing guidance on submitting the annual MEI tax return.

A MEI (Individual Micro-entrepreneur) can have up to one employee who receives the minimum wage or the category's minimum wage,” explained Vanessa.
The deadline for individual entrepreneurs to submit their DASN-Simei (Simplified Annual Tax Return for Individual Microentrepreneurs) for the base year 2018 to the Federal Revenue Service also ended on May 31st.
The agenda for May included a visit to the Exposec Fair.
When it comes to training, qualification, knowledge, and entrepreneurship, every opportunity should be seized. Therefore, the Garça Commercial and Industrial Association – ACIG – made its reservation in March for a Business Mission to the 22nd edition of the Exposec Fair, which took place from May 21st to 23rd at the São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
“This was another moment that Acig couldn't be left out of. We have a strong industry in the city focused on security, including business owners from Garça who exhibit at the event. More than boosting their sales and promoting their products, they are taking the city's name further. That's why we promoted this mission, providing this opportunity for those interested,” said the president of Acig, João Francisco Galhardo.
“"The Exposec Fair is the only event in Brazil that brings together the latest technologies, products and services for the security sector, in addition to attracting national and international buyers from across the production chain, providing a favorable environment for generating business and networking," he said.
Business owners from Garça participate in Exposec.
Among the many exhibitors at Exposec, the event featured companies genuinely from Garça, with representatives from Sentinela do Planalto, which, at this stage of the game, have become international. PPA and Fulttime were among the companies that contribute to the history and success of the event.
According to Samuel Peres, then Executive Director of PPA, in an interview given last year to the event organizers, the fair is a milestone for all security companies in Brazil.
“We have been participating in Exposec for 20 years, since the first fair, and PPA has been present in every edition. We have a calendar structured around the fair, with product launches and distributor meetings. We use this to promote Exposec and improve the fair even further,” he said.
“"Throughout the year we reap the rewards of the Fair, because it was there that we launched our products, talked to customers, understood the market a bit, saw the trends, and saw the competitors. We certainly reap the benefits all year round," said the director.
According to Wagner Peres, owner of Fulltime, also in an interview given to the event organizers last year, Exposec is a trade fair that covers all of Brazil.
“"It's a trade fair that takes place and, in 3 days, very quickly manages to promote all our products and services to most of the national and even international market. It's a fair that people from all over Brazil and parts of Latin America also attend," he said.
Another positive point highlighted by the businessman from Garça is that the fair, in addition to being a platform for launching new products, is a place for building human relationships. According to him, it is the major technology hub in Latin America.
“There are many clients we've been doing business with for some time, by phone, Skype, and email, who still don't know the people at the company. Besides being a platform for launching new products, the trade show is a place for building human relationships. I know several trade shows around the world, I participate in many, exhibiting and visiting. In South and Latin America, it's certainly the best place to showcase products; it's the most complete place that exists for you to quickly grasp what's happening in the security and electronic security market,” he said.
Demonstrating the scale of Exposec, Wagner Peres stated that during the event the company managed to register 400 new clients. And, echoing what Samuel Peres said, the businessman commented that "the fruits of Exposec are reaped throughout the year. I have no doubt about that.".

ACIG-Garça is the only one in the region to fulfill 100% of the basic premises of Boa Vista Serviços.
Among the good news in May was the announcement by Boa Vista Serviços that the Commercial and Industrial Association of Garça was the only one in the region to fulfill 100% of the basic principles guided by Boa Vista. These principles include: working well, striving to do the right thing, serving not only members but also the citizens, seeking the socio-economic development of the municipality, empowering its members, adding value, and working in accordance with emerging needs. This is part of ACIG's routine. In a journey where partnerships are necessary, the association in Garça follows the guidelines of Boa Vista Serviços and, as manager Fábio Dias explained, aims to fulfill the basic principles for the development of its activities.
“All associations must adhere to certain standards, premises, and meet certain requirements. The premises are the contents, the essential information that serves as the basis for us to reach the objective. What made us happy was that our association was the only one in the region that managed to fulfill 100% of all the basic premises of Boa Vista Serviços,” said Dias.
According to the manager, during a meeting held on May 31st at the headquarters of the Commercial and Industrial Association of Marília, members of Boa Vista Serviços presented FACESP information from Administrative Region 15 (RA). Contractual premises and the performance of the associations were shown. Information included: revenue growth (%), registration base growth (%), brand status, % incentivized products, and the status of incentivized products. ACIG was the only association that managed to fulfill 100% of the contractual premises.
“"All of this makes us happy, but we can't just be content. We can't stop, and the pursuit of improvement is continuous," said Dias.
