With an increase of 201,300 square meters of occupied area and 28,000 pre-registered attendees, the event has set a new record, making this the largest Exposec ever.
São Paulo, June 14, 2023 – For the first time, the opening ceremony of the 24th Exposec – International Security Fair was held at the end of the first day of the event. Thus, in addition to being a solemn act, important to mark another edition of one of the largest security events in Latin America, the event was also a moment of celebration at the end of the first day of the fair.
To celebrate this iconic moment and highlight the importance of another edition of the fair and its relevance to the advancement of public and private security, several authorities were present, including federal and state deputies, city councilors, and representatives from different levels of government and public security areas.
Among the authorities present were Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil, the event organizer; Selma Migliori, president of ABESE – the Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies; Elza Paulina de Souza, secretary of urban security for the city of São Paulo; Colonel Cássio Araújo de Freitas, commander-general of the Military Police of the State of São Paulo; and Cristiano Campidelli, general coordinator of Control of Services and Products of the Federal Police.
In his speech, Macedo illustrated the sector's strength by recalling that the previous year's edition, the first post-pandemic, had been the largest in the event's history. This year, with a growth of 20% in occupied area, a new record has been broken, making this the largest Exposec of all time. "To date, we have had 28,000 pre-registered attendees, even before the fair opened," he highlighted.
The importance of uniting the various market players for the development of new security technologies was highlighted in Migliori's speech, who also presented figures that illustrate the sector's relevance. "Today, this market is made up of more than 30,000 companies that generate more than one million direct jobs and more than two million indirect jobs."“
In a speech marked by the good humor of someone who grew up in the analog world but is now enthusiastic about everything that technology provides for everyone's safety, Campidelli emphasized his admiration for the minds behind technological advancements. "It is thanks to you, in the technology sector, that we are able to prevent the spread of many crimes today. It is thanks to technology that we can do more and better today, even with the limitations imposed by financial issues."“
The commander-general of the São Paulo Military Police reinforced the important role that the fair plays in integrating security efforts. “We are all on the same team. And all the successes of the private sector have repercussions on the successes of public security. When private security develops in its spaces, this positively impacts public security.”
The coordination of efforts to improve security was also highlighted in the speech by the Secretary of Urban Security for the city of São Paulo. “Public security cannot be achieved with a single force. We do better when we work together. And it is at events like this that we have the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences.”
