The space will feature panel discussions, an area for security managers, and presentations of new technologies and services for the security market.
Exposec 2020 will feature an innovation hub for Electronic Security, the Abese Connect Arena. This space, curated by Abese – the Brazilian Association of Electronic Security Systems Companies and organizer of the event – will bring together an IoT Engagement Island and a Security Startup Island, in addition to Abese Talks – lectures with leading experts in the sector, public authorities, and security managers – which this year will have a special area within the venue.
The Arena will address how to strengthen the integration between public and private security for the implementation of new practices that allow us to go beyond the walls, a global trend that is already being used as a model for pioneering national projects, such as the Abese São Paulo Inteligente Program, which collaborates with the Pilot projects implemented in 2019 with video surveillance of the surroundings of the Hospital das Clínicas, the largest hospital complex in Latin America, and the Eldorado Shopping Mall.
Following the success of last year's event, visitors can expect trends and immersive experiences at the 2020 edition. “The Arena represents a revolution in the electronic security market. During the three days, we will promote integration between visitors, technologies, public safety, and Internet of Things stakeholders,” comments Selma Migliori, president of Abese.
Abese Talks
For the event, the association has prepared a program of presentations, lectures, and interviews that will take place on the Abese Talks stage. The first day of the event will feature a debate on Public Innovation Policies with the participation of the representative from the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC), the Secretary of Telecommunications, Vitor Elisio Góes De Oliveira Menezes; Senator Daniella Velloso Borges; and the Secretary of Economic Development of the Government of the State of São Paulo, Patricia Ellen da Silva.
The second panel of the day will address the theme of Security Beyond the Walls. The discussion will feature the Executive Secretary of the Military Police, Colonel Álvaro Batista Camilo, and the Commander of the 23rd Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Larry de Almeida Saraiva. Other confirmed participants include: the Coordinator of the Security Management Committee, Josué Paes, as well as representatives from the São Paulo Metro, Shopping Eldorado, and USP (University of São Paulo).
There will also be an in-depth discussion on the advancement of Smart Cities in Brazil, moderated by the Coordinator of Smart Cities at CPQD, Maurício Casotti, and with the participation of the Coordinator of the Smart Cities 4.0 Chamber, Rodrigo Gebrim, the President of the Foundation for Science, Technology and Innovation of Fortaleza, Cláudio Ricardo Gomes de Lima, and the Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Municipality of Campina Grande, Lucas Ribeiro.
On the second day of the event, the Abese Talks stage will host a panel on Technologies for Electronic Security with representatives from the National Research Network, the American Tower group, Intel, and Microsoft Corp. The following panel will address cybersecurity with experts in the field: Legal Consultant Lázaro de Sá; Consultant Caio Kalawatis from Aissa Information Technology, who will speak about LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law); CPQD Manager José Reynaldo Formigoni Filho; and Cybersecurity Manager for Rio Grande do Norte, Emilio Nakamura.
The final day's program will focus on education. The first panel will discuss Electronic Security in Innovation and Technology Centers and will include representatives from various educational entities, including Marcelo Zuffo, coordinator of CITI-USP, a platform for multidisciplinary projects widely available for use by the scientific community of the University of São Paulo. The second debate will address the intersection between Education and Innovation for Electronic Security, with the participation of Roseli de Deus, vice president of the same platform; and Ângelo Zanini, Coordinator of the Innovation in Business and Entrepreneurship Center (NINE) at the Mauá Institute.
IoT Engagers Island and Startup Island
The Internet of Things (IoT) has gained traction in security solutions and has become one of the sector's main investments. The combination of data from various integrated devices, manageable via the network, streamlines service and maintenance processes, and enables applications such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Blockchain – shaping the future of public and private security. To promote discussion about IoT within the market, the Abese Connect Arena will bring together 14 companies and experts on the IoT Engagers Island.
Representatives from the Terra2 Inova program and educational institutions such as Mackenzie, Fundação Santo André, and the engineering course at Instituto Mauá will be present. The island will also feature federal initiatives proposed by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC), as well as those from the municipalities of Campina Grande and Fortaleza. Among the research institutes confirmed are CITI-USP and CPQD, in addition to the Brazilian IoT Forum and the Economy 4.0 Committee (OEB).
Still attentive to the advancements that new technologies bring to electronic security, Abese selected six startups with emerging technologies and business models in Security – to present disruptive and functional solutions for the national or global market at the Startup Island. Among the innovations are solutions based on the Internet of Things, Drones, and other technologies that are ready to be put into practice.
